Our guiding centre in North Wales
Ynysgain is on the edge of Eryri National Park and is surrounded by farmland most of which is owned by the National Trust. Its position is excellent for outdoor activities, including water sports, walking and climbing.
There are stone built residential properties are all located around the large courtyard.
Ynysgain is situated about one mile from Criccieth, halfway between Criccieth and Llanystumdwy on the A497.
It is a short walk to the beach abundant with shells and stones. The beach is home to many sea birds and seals inhabit the shallow costal waters.

Update regarding Ynysgain
“Ynysgain is a property owned by the Guide Association and is leased by Girlguiding Cymru.
The lease provides for a break clause, the next of which falls in September 2025, and Girlguiding Cymru plan to continue to utilise the site until then.
Bookings are now open for 2024.”

Opening of Ysgobur Hir - 1982
Camp Sites
The four campsites are each in their own gated field, surrounded by hedges, stonewalls and trees. All sites have a solid stone built shelter in the courtyard, with a fridge / freezer, table and chairs. Sites have a water tap and flush toilets, with showers in the courtyard.
Site 1 - is situated closest to the entrance and will accommodate 30 campers.
Site 2 - a sheltered site that will accommodate 60+ campers.
Site 3 - closest to Ty Ni, with a sea view - this site will accommodate 40 campers.
Site 4 - suitable for light weight camping or can be used as an overflow for the other sites.
Ysgbor Hir / The Long Barn
This property is a converted stone barn and suitable for wheelchair users. The property has double glazed windows and doors. It is heated with night storage and new digital radiators.
It accommodates 14 people (3 adults and 10 girls).
The property has two bedrooms, a shower room and large kitchen / dining room.
Ty Ni / Our house
A well equipped farmhouse for 16 people (4 adults and 12 girls).
This property is fitted with double glazed windows and doors, has oil fired central heating and has radiators in all rooms.
The property has 3 bedrooms, shower room, kitchen, living room and dinning room.
