The Regional, Innovation, Inclusion and Growth [RIIG] Project focused on co-creating new pilots with marginalised and under-represented groups and communities across North Wales [Caernarfonshire & Clwyd counties] placing them at the heart of our service design at Girlguiding Cymru.
An update from Verity
It has been a joy working on the Regional, Innovation, Inclusion and Growth [RIIG] project for the past 22 months; having worked with over 2000 young people and over 30 community partners, I genuinely feel proud of the work we have created.
We have co-created and designed 3 unique pilots, that aim to offer better support to young people and create new opportunities from the barriers they were facing:
Pilot 1: Discovery Worksheet - A bilingual leaflet with a variety of challenges to help young people discover more about themselves and the world around them.
Pilot 2: Badge Kit - A kit to help young people speak out about the things they’re passionate about through the design and creation of a badge.
Pilot 3: Confidence Workshops. A series of sessions to empower girls to use their voice, so they can better understand and reach their potential.
Whether you have worked with me briefly in a one-off session or meeting, or worked collaboratively with me for months, I am incredibly grateful for your support on this project. It really has helped us offer better support and representation of marginalised groups across North Wales. I hope that this project will continue to build our partnerships in the future and have positive impacts on all the young people involved in the co-creation process.
