Approved Girlguiding Walking Scheme Level 2 training
A Level 2 training course aimed at adult members wishing to extend their walking skills, to learn how to lead groups safely on moorland or in the hills, and to work towards gaining a Girlguiding walking qualification. The course will consist of practical and theoretical sessions based on the Level 2 syllabus including:
Navigation
Route planning
Group management
Leadership responsibilities
Equipment and food
Emergency scenarios and first aid
Hazards and managing risk
Weather
Access and conservation
Night navigation
Social Walking
The social walking is an informal weekend run alongside the Level 2 weekend. This is a perfect opportunity to gain further hill walking experience, log book days, or simply to explore a new area.

How much will it cost?
The total cost of the weekend is £100 per person.
This includes food and accommodation but excludes
personal travel.

Discount is available for Girlguiding Cymru members undertaking the training or assessment.
Accommodation
Accommodation is mainly in bunks. Please bring lower sheet and pillow case and a sleeping bag or duvet.
Some outdoor equipment is available to borrow.
