Looking for an unforgettable experience packed with friendship, adventure and purpose? The ICE 2026/2027 journey is just that – and it all starts with an exciting residential weekend.

What is ICE?

ICE (International Community Experience) is a three-stage opportunity that begins with a fun and inspiring weekend where Guides will explore what it means to be part of a community – locally and globally and provides them with a gentle introduction to international adventures. Through hands on activities like environmental projects, participants will discover how even small actions can make a big difference. Along the way, they’ll learn about global issues, build confidence and make new friends.

Who can take part?

Guides aged 11 – 13 (must be 11 by 1 September 2026 and no older than 13 by 1 August 2027).

Applications will open on 7 September 2026

Where is it?

First stage - a residential in Wales on the 2 – 4 October 2026 at Plas Pencelli, Brecon.

Second stage – a residential weekend in Spring 2027 (venue and dates to be confirmed at a later date) and ending with a visit to Lorne Estate Outdoor Adventure Centre, Holywood, Northern Ireland on 1-6 August 2027.

Cost

The cost will be £90 for the first residential weekend payable on application.

Additional costs apply for the follow up stages that will be advised during the first weekend, but we expect the total cost for the 3 stages to be under £850.00.

Places available?

There are limited spaces for Guides on the project which starts with the residential weekend in October 2026. If oversubscribed the Guides will be selected through a ballot process to attend the next stage.

What happens next?

Successful participants will move on to a pre-trip weekend in Spring 2027
at a date to be conmfirmed, where they’ll deepen friendships and help plan their adventure.

The journey culminates in an incredible trip in August 2027. Guides will take part in a meaningful community project, explore a new place, and reflect on everything they’ve achieved—creating memories and skills that will last a lifetime.
