History

The Guiding County of Clwyd can be found in North Wales.
Clwyd came into existence in 1974.  It was formed at the time of local government re-organisation when the old counties of Denbighshire and Flintshire were amalgamated.  It still remains as Clwyd although local government has been re-organised and the last political county of Clwyd divided into the three counties of Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham, with part of Conwy. Girlguiding Clwyd now spans these three and a bit counties.

County Standard: At the time of re-organisation a new standard was designed and the old standards of Flintshire and Denbighshire were laid up in Wrexham Parish Church and St Asaph Cathedral respectivley.
The Standard was dedicated on: Sunday 5th September 1982 By The Bishop of St. Asaph. At St Asaph Cathedral
