Girlguiding Cymru: Growing together commissioners conference report
On Saturday, April 20th, 2024, Newtown played host to a vibrant gathering of Girlguiding Cymru commissioners at the Growing Together conference. Over 60 commissioners from across Wales came together for a day of shared knowledge, inspiration, and collaboration.
We were pleased to welcome Girlguiding's chief guide, Tracey Foster, who undoubtedly energised the participants.
The Cymru Guiding delivery team played a pivotal role, transforming themselves into a living library, offering their expertise through interactive sessions. Additionally, EDI officers Aliza Nathoo and Kimberley Cumberbatch from Girlguiding lent their valuable insights, enriching the conference with discussions on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
The atmosphere was abuzz with learning and camaraderie. Workshops provided a platform for commissioners to exchange ideas and best practices, fostering a spirit of unity and shared purpose.
The Growing Together Commissioners Conference undoubtedly served as a catalyst for strengthening the Girlguiding Cymru network and equipping its commissioners with the tools and knowledge to empower girls and young women across Wales.
