Girlguiding Carmarthenshire is part of Girlguiding Cymru.
The county covers the areas of Llanelli, Carmarthen, Kidwelly, Ammanford, Llandeilo and Llandovery. This county has 1 Division and 7 Districts.

We offer girls and young women in the County a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. While giving them the chance to discover their full potential.

History

Guiding began in Carmarthenshire in 1910. Records show that a unit of Guides in Carmarthen were the first units to open in Wales. Girlguiding Carmarthenshire now has 74 units across Carmarthenshire from Burry Port to Llandovery and from St Clears to Drefach.

In 1917 the Llanelli Star reported that the Girl Guides had A successful demonstration at Llanelly. A highly successful display was given by the 3rd Llanelly Girl Guides at the Parish Hall, when Canon Watcyn Morgan presided. Amongst those present, on the platform were Miss Nicholl Commissioner of Wales, Miss Stepney-Gulston County Commissioner of Carmarthen, Lady Howard President of Carmarthenshire, Miss Brodie (captain of 1st Llanelly. During the interval Miss Nicholl congratulated the Girl Guides on their excellent display, and then ably addressed them on the Guide laws.
