About

Girlguiding Caernarfonshire is part of Girlguiding Cymru.
Girlguiding Caernarfonshire is situated in North Wales, stretching from Llandudno to Caernarfon and beyond. We have around 50 units within our area at the moment and we are always looking for more girls to join us! This county has 4 Divisions and no districts.

We offer girls and young women in the County a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. While giving them the chance to discover their full potential.

History

Caernarfonshire, in the North, takes in a piece of the newer county of Gwynedd and a piece of the even newer county of Conwy. Split into three divisions – Dwyfor to the South, Aberconwy to the north with Arfon in the middle – it spans from it’s lengthy, rugged coast line, interspersed with expansive sandy beaches and stony coves, to the top of the highest mountain peak in the whole of Wales and each division has it’s fair share of historic castles.

It is situated close to the Snowdonia Mountains and to the walled town of Caernarfon.

Guiding began in Llandudno in 1922. 1st Llandudno Guide Unit is the oldest unit in the county.
