The winner of our badge design competition is...

We want to say a  BIG CONGRATULATIONS  to Iris Lomax from 1st Wick & St Brides Major Guide Unit for winning our President's Badge Design Competition!

Iris said: 

“After seeing all of the window decorations in my local area, I was inspired to decorate our windows at home, in support of the NHS.  Therefore, I decided to incorporate that in my design.  The NHS are working really hard during this difficult time and I wanted to help spread the message to stay home and stay safe.”

There were over 150 entrees from all over Wales. We selected the best 25 designs and those were judged by: Tori James (President) , Lesley Mathews (Chief Commissioner), Bev Martin (Chief Commissioner Designate) & Rachael Clutton-Haines (Girlguiding Cymru Manager)

Last night we put the 5 top designs to our volunteers, they voted and Iris won!

Iris’ design will be reproduced into a digital design soon!

Chief Commissioner, Lesley Mathews said:

“Thank you Iris for taking part in our competition. We understand that you are very new to Guides and we would like to thank you for continuing guiding from home. Your design is fantastic and you should be very proud! I’d like to extend my thank you to all our members in Wales for your enthusiasm and when its safe to do so I’ll look forward to catching up with you when we restart”.

Also a big thank you to Iris’ leaders, Shirley, Rhiannon, Angharad, Sue and Gwen and Sarah-Jayne for getting behind the competition and challenge badge to help us raise money for NHS Wales. 

To every single girl who entered the competition, thank you! We were blown away with your designs! They were all fantastic! We’ll be featuring some of them very soon!
