About the Girls’ Attitudes Survey

Girlguiding has given girls and young women a platform to speak out on the issues that matter to them through the Girls’ Attitudes Survey since 2009. Our flagship research asks girls and young women how they feel about their everyday lives.

This survey, now in its 16th year, asked over 2,500 girls and young women aged 7-21, representative of girls across the UK, about the challenges they face as a girl today. It looks at what this means for their happiness, wellbeing and futures. The Girls’ Attitudes Survey is developed with our advocate youth panel.

We would like to thank them for their contributions in shaping the themes and questions, and the development of this report. You can find all the results from this and previous surveys on our website: girlguiding.org.uk/girlsattitudes A huge thank you to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for their invaluable support for our Girls’ Attitudes Survey 2024.
