UDOIT! Dance ignites Cardiff: A Street Dance event for Girlguiding Cymru members!
On the 8th of March 2025, the House of Sport in Cardiff transformed into a dance studio as Girlguiding Cymru's UDOIT! Dance street dance workshop took centre stage. Over 80 enthusiastic Brownies, Guides, Rangers, and Young leaders, alongside their dedicated leaders, descended upon the venue, ready to pop and lock their way into a day of exhilarating movement. Everyone prepared to unleash their inner dancers!
The workshop, led by the incredible team from UDOIT! Dance, was a whirlwind of dynamic routines and infectious rhythms. From mastering the fundamentals of isolations and grooves to learning intricate choreography, participants were immersed in the captivating world of street dance. The House of Sport echoed with the sound of stomping feet and joyful laughter as everyone embraced the challenge, pushing their boundaries and discovering new levels of confidence. The workshop wasn't just about learning steps; it was about fostering teamwork, building self-expression, and celebrating the power of movement.
The UDOIT! Dance instructors, with their infectious passion and expert guidance, created a supportive and encouraging environment where everyone felt comfortable to freestyle and express themselves. The participants learned to break and toprock with style and were taught routines that were both challenging and fun. It was a true display of how dance can unite and empower, creating a space where girls and young women could shine. The room was full of energy and positive vibes.
The girls rotated around the event to take part in four separate workshops led by individual instructors.
The day was extra special for our members as it was also International Women’s Day. Lots of our members took part in a special video that we shared online.
A massive thank you must be extended to UDOIT! Dance for their exceptional delivery of this inspiring workshop. Their expertise was instrumental in making the day a resounding success.
We are also incredibly grateful to Sport Wales and The National Lottery for their generous funding, which made this unforgettable experience possible. Their support in empowering young women through physical activity and creative expression is invaluable. The impact of this event will resonate far beyond the dance floor!
