Young Leader Tesni Receives Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

“Words cannot describe how proud I am to announce that Tesni has achieved her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award ❤️
A fantastic achievement, having started her Bronze Award in the autumn of 2016, her Silver in October 2017 and then Gold a year later.
In that time she ...
Took up running and ran a 10k raising £880 for Above & Beyond.
Walked over 250 kms (each expedition was a challenge in different ways)
Learnt to knit
Completed a 52 week photography challenge (if anyone wants to see this ask me for the link, it's amazing!)
Volunteered a ridiculous number hours with both Rainbows and Brownies
Worked as a volunteer at Wellies & Wristbands
Most importantly got both of us into henna!!
She has continually shown not only resilience but also downright grit at times!! A far cry from my little Rainbow who used to hide under the table every week!!
A massive thank you to Girlguiding Gwent for the opportunities they give to all our girls but also to all of you who have agreed to be her assessors over time!”
