Celebrating a Year of Adventure, partnership and progress: Girlguiding Cymru’s 2025 to 2026 Annual Report
We’re proud to present the Girlguiding Cymru 2025 to 2026 Annual Report, celebrating an inspiring year filled with growth, innovation and impact across Wales. This year’s report shines a spotlight on the many ways we’ve continued to empower girls and young women through exciting experiences and strong community connections.
Our Chief Commissioner, Kathy Gunner, reflects on a year of change and progress, while our President, Tori James, shares her personal insights and hopes for the future of Girlguiding in Wales.
This year, we launched a range of exciting new challenge packs in partnership with Dwr Cymru, Cricket Wales, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales and Katie Mogford from Flow and Grow Yoga. These challenge packs encouraged our members to explore new interests and develop new skills.
We also brought energy and creativity to our programme with events such as street dance workshops, cricket festivals, the spectacular Ice Extravaganza and vibrant 2025 Challenge events held across both North and South Wales. A key highlight of 2025 was the Cityscapes event in Cardiff!
The report outlines how we’ve delivered against the four Girlguiding strategies, supported by key facts, figures and financial information that reflect our commitment to growth, inclusion and retention.
As we look to the future, this report stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, community and the boundless potential of every girl in guiding.

“Guiding in Wales is committed to offering girls and young women a space to belong and have fun. We bring girls together to have incredible adventures, figure out what makes them tick, share laughs and learn about the world around them.
Girlguiding is what each member wants it to be. It might be the thrill of doing something for the first time, songs around a campfire, the buzz of achieving a new badge, coming home exhausted and full of stories from creating memories.
We offer a space where girls can get creative, explore, become more confident and most of all have fun. We achieve this through delivering an exciting, diverse, girl-led programme of activities through a range of formal and informal learning approaches which support the development and well-being of our membership, all of which is facilitated by trusted adult leaders who are mindful of the importance of the Welsh language and culture.
With over 15,200 members throughout Wales in over 965 units, our aims and objectives have remained constant since our inception (1910), in that we empower girls and young women to be their best and provide skills and opportunities to enable them to face the challenges of growing up in an equal world where girls can make a positive difference, be happy and safe and fulfil their potential.”
