Girlguiding Cymru at the Royal Welsh Show 2025
Girlguiding Caernarfonshire took centre stage as our host county at the Royal Welsh Show 2025, supported by an incredible team of volunteers from across Wales. Throughout the week, girls and leaders proudly shared their guiding journeys with visitors from far and wide, bringing the spirit of guiding to one of the biggest events in the Welsh calendar.
Girlguiding Caernarfonshire and their team of dedicated leaders have worked tirelessly, both on the showground and at Plas Pencelli – supporting not only their own girls but also welcoming and guiding other leaders and girls from across Wales.
Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders, Leaders and Commissioners from across Wales also supported the host county at this year’s Royal Welsh Show!
Some girls were volunteering as part of their Queen’s Guide or Duke of Edinburgh Award, and some came just to lend a helping hand. We were very appreciative of Sam and Donna from Cronfa Ddwr County who stepped in to support when needed.
Making memories
There were many memorable moments during the show, including special visits from Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and actor Martin Clunes, both of whom took the time to meet with members and learn more about their involvement in guiding. The media also shone a spotlight on our members, with several girls and leaders speaking passionately about their experiences during interviews with the BBC and S4C.
Our role
Guides played a vital role in the smooth running of the event. They managed the bag drop and buggy crèche, delivered competition results across the showground, supported visitors at information points, and assisted in the sheep rings by holding breed boards during judging. These responsibilities gave girls a chance to develop new skills, boost their confidence, and form lasting friendships, all while proudly representing Girlguiding.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make the week such a success. Your enthusiasm, teamwork and dedication truly showcased the best of Girlguiding in Wales.
Thank you for helping us make such a fantastic impact at the Royal Welsh Show 2025.

The experience simply wouldn’t be possible without you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
“It was fantastic to get to experience the show from “behind the scenes”, it was hard work to do our bit for GGC but made our free time to enjoy the show much more rewarding.”
