Get your skates ready – the Girlguiding Cymru Ice Extravaganza events are back for 2026–2027!
Join us for three fantastic events on the following dates:
North Wales
Saturday 12 December 2026 - Deeside Dragons vs Leeds Knights
South Wales
Saturday 30 January 2027 - Cardiff Devils vs Guildford Flames - Fully booked
Sunday 21 February 2027 Cardiff Devils vs Manchester - Fully booked
Bookings open on 7 September 2026 at 8am.
Girlguiding Cymru’s Ice Extravaganza has become a much-loved tradition, bringing together Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, and volunteers for unforgettable days of skating, laughter, and friendship. Held at Vindico arena in Cardiff, these events have seen thousands of girls take to the ice over the years, some for the first time, cheered on by their units and leaders.
Please note that while the Ice Extravaganza event is open to Girlguiding units that do not meet in Wales, the free leader spaces are funded by Sport Wales, so all leader places for non-Wales units would need to be paid for.
Each extravaganza is packed with fun! The skating session is supported by the amazing Cardiff Comets Women’s team. The skating session is followed by a chance to see the Cardiff Devils and Deeside Dragons face off against a rival team!
The Ice Extravaganza is more than just a day out – it’s a celebration of confidence, teamwork, and the joy of trying something new together.

Yes, at least one adult should be on the ice with the girls at all times. If your unit does not have a leader who is able to go on the ice, you may wish to ask a parent helper to accompany the group. Alternatively, please let us know in advance – if your group is small, we may be able to pair you with another unit for support.

Yes there will be.
Each unit will also need their own first aider though. -
This event is for Girlguiding Cymru members only, You may bring parent helpers in line with ratios. Spaces are limited.
Parents and families are welcome to book match tickets directly with the venue. The ice skating event is for Girlguiding Cymru only.
