Role

Girlguiding Cymru Trustee and Girlguiding Gwent county commissioner

My bio

Growing up in the North East of England, my love of Girlguiding first began when I joined the local brownies and guides. It was a thrilling experience and that sense of adventure, friendship and belonging never really left me - especially after my first camp and joining the parade in our uniforms when we had royal visits in our region.

After qualifying as a nurse, moving to South Wales for my wedding and enjoying a diverse and varied career in many healthcare and business roles at home and abroad, I planted my feet firmly in Wales to bring up my family.

Within Girlguiding Cymru, my journey was rekindled once my daughter decided to join and I feel as if I had never left.

I am enjoying my current roles as brownie and rainbow leader, county commissioner and LDP mentor and looking forward to bringing my life experiences to the trustee board to enable more opportunities for our membership to give them the joys and memories that inspired me.
