Girlguiding Ceredigion county commissioner awarded Silver Dragon Award

Caroline Wilson, the outgoing county commissioner for Girlguiding Ceredigion, has been recognised for her exceptional contributions to Girlguiding Ceredigion with the prestigious Silver Dragon Award.

This accolade is the one of the highest honours bestowed upon adult volunteers in Girlguiding Cymru, acknowledging remarkable dedication and service over many years.

Under Caroline's leadership, Girlguiding Ceredigion has flourished. She has spearheaded numerous initiatives to expand the reach of guiding and cater to the diverse needs of girls in the county.

Caroline has supported the Duke of Edinburgh Award program. She has also played a pivotal role in promoting the award scheme within Girlguiding Ceredigion, encouraging girls to challenge themselves and develop essential life skills.

Girlguiding Cymru Chief Commissioner Bev Martin was proud to present the award to Caroline at a presentation evening in Aberaeron.

Bev said "She is always going the extra mile to support girls and ensure they have access to the opportunities and experiences that Girlguiding offers. Her passion and commitment are truly remarkable."

Caroline said “Thank you for the Silver Dragon award. I am amazed to have received it. I will wear it with immense pride on my badge tab.”

The Silver Dragon Award is a fitting tribute to Caroline's outstanding contributions to Girlguiding. Her dedication has empowered countless girls and volunteers in Ceredigion, shaping their lives for the better.

The Silver Dragon Award is a well-deserved recognition of her exceptional contributions. The ceremony in Aberaeron marked the end of Caroline’s term as county commissioner. The role has now been passed over to Heidi Booth who will ably carry on Caroline’s work.
