St. David’s Day | Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant
March the 1st is a very special day here in Wales as it’s the day we celebrate our patron saint, St. David.
St.David’s Day has been celebrated here in Wales since the 12th century.
St.David was born in the 6th century and legends say that he was born on a Pembrokeshire clifftop during a fierce storm, the spot is marked by a small ancient chapel, Capel Non named after his mother.
Both his parents were said to be descended from Welsh Royalty with his grandfather being the King of Ceredigion.
