Announcing the 2024-2025 Annual Report from Girlguiding Cymru

Celebrating a Year of Adventure, Partnership and Progress: Girlguiding Cymru’s 2024–2025 Annual Report

We’re proud to present the Girlguiding Cymru 2024–2025 Annual Report – a celebration of an inspiring year filled with growth, innovation, and impact across Wales. This year’s report shines a spotlight on the many ways we’ve continued to empower girls and young women through exciting experiences and strong community connections.

Our Chief Commissioner, Bev Martin, reflects on a year of progress, while our President, Tori James, shares her personal insights and hopes for the future of Girlguiding in Wales.

This year, we launched a range of exciting new challenge packs in partnership with the RNLI, Sustrans Wales and WeCare Wales, encouraging our members to explore new interests and develop vital life skills. We also brought energy and creativity to our programme with events such as street dance workshops, cricket festivals, the spectacular Ice Extravaganza, and vibrant leader events held in both North and South Wales.

The report outlines how we’ve delivered against the four Girlguiding strategy pillars, supported by key facts, figures and financials that reflect our commitment to growth, inclusion, and retention.

As we look to the future, this report stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, community, and the boundless potential of every girl in guiding.

We invite all members, volunteers and supporters to explore the full report and join us in celebrating everything we’ve achieved – together.

Guiding in Wales is committed to helping girls and young women find their voice, build confidence and well-being, and work towards greater gender equality, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and empowering them to make a positive difference in their communities. With over 15,200 members in almost 1,000 units across Wales, we provide a diverse, girl-led programme of activities supported by trusted adult volunteers who champion Welsh language and culture. Our successes are a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, staff, supporters and donors, whose passion ensures that Guiding continues to offer life-changing opportunities that help girls grow, thrive and fulfil their potential.”

Through collaboration with organisations such as Sports Wales, the RNLI, Sustrans Cymru, Social Care Wales and Welsh Fencing, we’ve been able to expand opportunities, challenge stereotypes, and encourage healthy, active lifestyles. These partnerships, alongside the commitment of our training and delivery teams, strengthen our ability to support members, reach underrepresented communities, and provide fun, inspiring and practical experiences for everyone.

As we look ahead, we remain ambitious for girls and young women, confident in our ability to deliver programmes that empower our girls and leaders.
